Building a Stronger Community Together
Grant Guidelines
The Weiner Family Foundation has transitioned to a new grant management platform through Submittable. Applicants can submit proposals, review guidelines, and check if the grant cycle is currently open through our online portal.
What We Fund
We award grants to U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose work falls within one or more of our priority areas:
- Youth-Based Charities
Supporting children's physical, emotional, and educational well-being, especially in underserved communities.
- Animal Causes
Helping domestic animals, wildlife, and rescue organizations through care, rehabilitation, conservation, and advocacy.
- Human Trafficking Recovery & Prevention
Supporting survivors of trafficking through shelter, trauma-informed care, and crisis response, while funding preventative efforts.
- Jewish Community Support
Select grants to Jewish organizations rooted in education, elder care, or anti-antisemitism efforts may be considered.
We primarily fund organizations in the
Greater Philadelphia region, though we may consider others with strong alignment and a U.S.-based presence.
Grant Types
- One-Year Grants
Ideal for first-time applicants or specific, time-limited needs.
- Multi-Year Grants
Considered for existing or returning partners with proven impact and deep mission alignment. We typically fund up to three years.
- Strategic Project Grants
For major initiatives that meet a clear and urgent need, such as capital projects or capacity-building efforts.
Grant Size
- Grant requests should start at a minimum of $5,000.
- Most awarded grants fall between $10,000 and $25,000, though we are open to larger amounts in special cases with shared enthusiasm.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) public charity in good standing.
- We do not fund individuals or for-profit entities.
- Religious organizations may apply for non-sectarian programs that benefit the broader community.
- We do not make political donations.
