Client Story: Covenant House Pennsylvania

A Foundation for Healing. A Future With Hope.

Helping Youth Find More Than Shelter

When Covenant House Pennsylvania needed room to grow, the Weiner Family Foundation stepped in—by purchasing the neighboring building and donating it to help launch a transformative capital campaign. The goal: expand Covenant House’s transitional housing for youth overcoming homelessness, trafficking, and systemic injustice.

A New Chapter: Rights of Passage II

The newly renovated building is now Rights of Passage II, a 12-unit transitional housing program that offers more than just a roof—it provides stability, safety, and a path forward. At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, a young future resident walked into her new apartment, smiling through tears. It was a powerful reminder: this space is an act of liberation.

Built With Community. Backed By Belief.

This project took years of vision, dedication, and belief in a simple idea: every young person deserves a safe place to live and a real chance to thrive. Together with CH staff, volunteers, donors, and fellow partners, we helped make that idea a reality.

We’re Proud to Stand With Covenant House

Our support of Rights of Passage II reflects our deep commitment to youth-based charities and anti-trafficking initiatives. We're proud to join Covenant House and their community of care to ensure every young person is treated with dignity, compassion, and love.

"This is a promise to keep showing up for the youth who need us."

Grant Story: Caring for Animals, One Life at a Time

From the sky to the shelter and into the wild—we support animal rescue with heart. Animals deserve safety, dignity, and care—and the Weiner Family Foundation is proud to support organizations that make this possible every day. We fund animal causes of all kinds, from rescuing at-risk pets and wildlife to rehabilitating animals with no place else to go. Here are just a few of the groups we’re proud to stand with:

Pilots to the Rescue

Based in the Northeast, Pilots to the Rescue transports at-risk pets from overcrowded or kill shelters to safe havens where they can find forever homes. Our general support helps keep these life-saving missions in flight—because every mile can make the difference between life and death for an animal in need.

Le Cat Café (Green Street Rescue, Philadelphia)

Part rescue shelter, part cozy cat café, this beloved Philly nonprofit is creating safe spaces for abandoned and at-risk cats to be adopted into loving homes. We provide general support to help with medical care, housing, and the magic of connecting people with new feline friends.

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge

In 2024, the Weiner Family Foundation proudly funded the construction of a new, permanent fox enclosure at Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey. Now named The Weiner Family Fox Enclosure, this space offers safety, enrichment, and recovery for injured or orphaned foxes preparing to return to the wild.

Our support reflects the Weiner family’s deep love for animals and our commitment to protecting wildlife and the places that care for them. Cedar Run’s work in rehabilitation and conservation makes a lasting difference—and we’re honored to be part of it.

Together with these incredible partners, we’re helping animals get the second chance they deserve—in the air, in our neighborhoods, and in the wild. Because kindness to animals is part of kindness to the world.
